Criteria for selection
 |
Be in 10th or 11th grade when applying |
|
Be a member and actively involved in leadership in a
congregation of the Christian Church (DOC) in the Greater K. C. Region |
|
Be willing to make a commitment to attend all Cabinet meetings
and regional CYF events (e.g. Mid-Winter, Lock-in, CYF Conference) |
|
Have statement from 3 adult references (minister, youth
sponsor/S.S. teacher, one other elder/adult in the church) recommending them
for membership on the cabinet. |
Organization
The CYF Regional Cabinet shall consist of:
|
Approximately 12 youth selected by seniors and adults on present cabinet,
sometime before May 1st. |
|
3 or more adult sponsors (mix of lay and clergy) |
|
1 adult chairperson |
|
1 Regional staff person (ex-officio) |
|
Terms are for one year and can be re-elected |
Election of Cabinet
|
Candidate must meet all criteria outlined above |
|
Candidate must have completed a Personal Statement of Faith
and be able to discuss its meaning. |
|
Candidate will meet with the current Cabinet, discussing the
candidates faith journey, views of leadership, strengths/weaknesses, thoughts
on how to serve, etc. (approximately 30 minutes). |
|
Candidates will be advised of the results of the selection
process (within approximately 2 weeks) via phone/letter/e-mail or some
combination of the above. |
