Directors

My name is Nora Engelken and I have been going to Tall Oaks camps in 2004. I started going to Day Camps and have been to camp every year since then either as a camper or a counselor. I started counseling at Grandparents camp, Chi Rho and then CYF and Midwinter camps. I grew up learning all sorts of ways to connect with God through my mom, Lisa Engelken, a DOC Pastor. I love seeing how all generations experience and learn new ways to be with God.

I am the General Manager at Strang Hall in OP. I have been a leader in my personal and professional life for a long time. I am super excited to direct Adult Camp this year!

Hi, my name is Amy and I’m excited to be co-directing Adult Camp this year!

Tall Oaks has been a part of my life for nearly 30 years now! From camper to summer staff, counseling and directing several camps, serving as an adult on RYC, and now serving on the Tall Oaks Board, I’ve participated in just about every way possible.

I currently live in North Kansas City with my husband Bret and my dog Coco. Some of my favorite things include being outdoors, gardening, painting, cooking/baking, and listening to audio books.

I love that Tall Oaks is a safe place that allows people to be their authentic selves and I love that adult camp is providing that space for adults now too. We need that community just as much now as we did when we were younger!
