Grandparents Camp

Age: Grandparents with their young Grandchildren

At Grandparents camp we will be studying the Bible, hearing stories, playing game, swimming, making crafts, walking in the woods and enjoying a wagon ride with s'mores around a campfire. There will be "together time" just for you and your grandparent/s.

Rev. Laura Phillips serves as the Senior Pastor at Overland Park Christian Church. No matter the ministry of the church, Laura seeks to create a safe and inviting place for all who are seeking, questioning, doubting, and looking for a relationship with God, no matter where they are on their journey of faith. Ordained in 2009, Laura attended Lexington Theological Seminary and the University of Missouri and brings over 15 years of church ministry experience. 

Her background and faith journey has colored her commitment to peace, social justice, outreach, and the many different ways in which people can experience God uniquely and authentically. 

Grandparents Camp 2

Sarah McGinley, Director 

Sarah McGinley has been part of the church camp world since she was in elementary school, and at each stage of life has found the experience to build her faith and add people to her church family. She believes grandparent camp is the perfect place to introduce children to joys of church camp starts them on the road to wonderful opportunities. 

What to pack

  • Your Bible

  • Bedding –Pillow, Sleeping bag or twin bed sheets and a blanket

  • Towels for swimming, showering, and other situations that might get wet!

  • Clothes – At least 1 outfit per day plus an extra one. Campers will also receive a camp t-shirt.

    • At least one pair of pants or jeans is also highly recommended for walking in the woods.

  • Swimsuit. Please refrain from bringing string bikinis or extra short male swim trunks.

  • Toiletries – Toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and a comb.

  • Shoes – At least one pair of close-toed shoes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. Sandals or flip-flops are great for the pool or for around the cabin.

  • Any medication required to be taken during our time at camp.

  • Water Bottle
